Instructions: Use a sailing wallpaper for your Windows background

How to change your desktop wallpaper/background in Windows XP

  1. Download the widescreen or normal wallpaper file by clicking the download link underneath the Free Wallpaper Monday – Sailing Backgrounds page. When prompted to choose a download location, select your desktop for easy finding in the next step.
  2. Minimize all windows so you can see your desktop. Right click on some empty part of your desktop (not an icon). Click properties in the popup menu.
  3. Choose Desktop from the horizontal menu along the top of the new window.
  4. In the Desktop pane, click Browse. Now find the newly downloaded image on your desktop and click Open.
  5. Click Apply, then Done.
  6. That’s it!

Windows Vista

  1. Download the widescreen or normal wallpaper file by clicking the download link underneath the Free Wallpaper Monday – Sailing Backgrounds page. When prompted to choose a download location, select your desktop for easy finding in the next step.
  2. Minimize all windows so you can see your desktop. Right click on some empty part of your desktop (not an icon). Click Personalize in the popup menu.
  3. Choose Desktop Background - second from top in the new window.
  4. Now click browse and find the newly downloaded photo in your desktop folder. Double click it.
  5. Click OK.
  6. That’s it!
